Change of Tides

I insisted I did not wish to impose

adamant I did not want to be a burden

I walked on tip-toes

rarely making a fuss

so the few times

I made my voice heard

you responded with a bang

as if hell were being raised,

my mistake for having made myself meek

for then my regular decibel

voicing my concerns

my pains

my triggers

sound like a roaring storm

when they are merely

my communication
