As Others Entered Your View
You entered my life
claiming to be different,
swearing we were a perfect fit,
rolling your eyes
hearing the actions of my exes,
growing protective of me,
saying you’d marry me on the spot,
but as time progressed
you showed to be
just like the rest,
growing distant
and cold.
It is not a matter
of where did the love go,
but was it ever there,
or were you merely
twisting your words
to get what you wanted out of me
in your moments of need,
then tossing me aside
as others entered your view?
